Abstract:

In this paper we calculate the Berry phase for a wave function of a particle in an infinite spherical potential well with adiabatically varying. In order to do this, we need the solutions of the corresponding Schrödinger equation with a time dependent Hamiltonian. Here, we obtain these solutions for the first time. In addition, we calculate the Berry phase in one dimensional case for an infinite potential well. We see that this phase is comparable with the usual dynamical phase but with different sign. Therefore, it is important to take it into account in the quantum mechanical calculations.

Solutions of the Klein-Gordon equation in an infinite square-well potential with a moving wall

Introduction. – The non-relativistic system of a onedimensional infinite square well with a massive particle evolving according to the Schrödinger equation is one of the most elementary quantum mechanical systems, and it often serves as an approximation to more complex physical systems. If, however, the potential walls are allowed to move, as originally in the Fermi-Ulam model for the accelerat...

Control of a Quantum Particle in a Moving Potential Well

The control is the potential well absolute position. For two kinds of potential shape (periodic and box), we propose approximated solutions to the stead-state motion planing problem: steering in finite time the particle from an initial well position to a final well position, the initial and final particle energies being identical. This problem is a quantum analogue of the water tank problem, wh...

ذره در چاه کوانتومی با دیواره متحرک

We study the problem of a quantum particle in an infinite one dimensional potential well with a moving wall. Based on the effective Hamiltonian approach and using the gauge transformation concepts, we show that the effect of the moving wall appears as an extra phase factor in the wave function which depends on the velocity of the wall.

On the small-time local controllability of a quantum particle in a moving one-dimensional infinite square potential well

We consider a quantum charged particle in a one-dimensional infinite square potential well moving along a line. We control the acceleration of the potential well. The local controllability in large time of this nonlinear control system along the ground state trajectory has been proved recently. We prove that this local controllability does not hold in small time, even if the Schrödinger equatio...

A singular position dependent mass particle in an infinite potential well

We consider an unusual singular position=dependent-mass particle in an infinite potential well. The corresponding Hamiltonian is mapped through a point-canonical-transformation and an explicit correspondence between the target Hamiltonian and a Pöschl-Teller type reference Hamiltonian is obtained. New ordering ambiguity parametric setting are suggested. PACS codes: 03.65.Ge, 03.65.Ca
